The annual 102.9 MGK Turkey Drop collected a remarkable 4,575 turkeys this year to support families in need across the Delaware Valley. The four-hour event, held on November 26 at the Kimmel Center in Center City Philadelphia, also included 12 Acme Market locations as additional collection points.

WMGK morning personality Matt Cord hosted the event live from the Kimmel Center. He was joined by Program Director and midday personality Eric Johnson along with fellow broadcasters Tony Harris, Paul Kelly, Cyndy Drue and Angel Donato, who reported from various Acme locations.

"This year's turnout was incredible," said Matt Cord. "Our listeners really stepped up, showing immense generosity and community spirit. It's a testament to the strength and kindness of our community."

Eric Johnson expressed gratitude towards the station's audience, noting, "Our listeners are incredibly loyal and always ready to support our efforts. Their participation is crucial in helping us make a significant impact every year."

The Turkey Drop has been a critical part of WMGK's community outreach for over twenty years. All the turkeys collected during the event are distributed by CityTeam Philadelphia, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing local needs.
