KQAC-FM/Portland, OR, known as All Classical Radio, has received a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support its upcoming Access Recording Project. This initiative is designed to lower financial hurdles to quality recording and performance facilities for artists and groups from diverse backgrounds.

The grant is part of the NEA's Grants for Arts Projects awards, which has distributed $36.79 million across 1,474 awards nationwide in this funding cycle. The Access Recording Project, set to launch later this year, will provide selected artists and organizations nominated by their peers access to All Classical Radio's performance hall and recording studio either free of charge or at a reduced cost.

NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD, emphasized the agency's commitment to enhancing the nation's cultural landscape. "The NEA is proud to continue our nearly 60-year legacy of fostering the arts in every community across the country," said Jackson. "This funding supports a range of projects that not only reflect on our past but also imagine our future, weaving arts more deeply into the fabric of our daily lives and bringing people together through shared cultural experiences."

The grant recipients were chosen through a rigorous review process involving more than 340 experts and laypeople. These panelists evaluated applications based on published criteria, with final awards approved by the NEA Chair following recommendations from the National Council on the Arts.

For further details on this grant cycle and to view state-by-state grant listings or awards by discipline, visit the NEA's website. The agency also invites public participation in the grant review process through volunteer opportunities.
