"The Paulie and Tony Fusco Show," a blend of satire and sports talk, has clinched the 2025 Sports Podcast Award for "Best Sports Comedy" once again. This marks the second consecutive win for the show, which is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and FOX Sports Radio (FSR), a unit of Premiere Sports Network.
Hosted by Andrew Samson and Sharief Ali, who adopt the personas of overzealous Philadelphia Eagles fans, the podcast parodies the fervent world of "hot take" sports media. Despite their claim to offer the "smartest" sports takes, the show's charm lies in its humorously terrible sports analysis and the hosts' penchant for abruptly dismissing their notable sports world guests.
Upon receiving the award, the hosts humorously commented, "We told those fools that this show is NOT a comedy and yet they gave us this award again. But since we work in the podcast industry and have what some might call a 'limited marketing budget,' we will accept any form of free promotion."
Adding to the jest, Scott Shapiro, Senior Vice President of Sports Programming at FOX Sports Radio, quipped, "Wait, these guys still have a show? I told our engineers to turn off the feed months ago thinking no one would notice. Let's just say this is the last time these clowns win an award."
"The Paulie and Tony Fusco Show" is available for streaming every Thursday on the iHeartRadio app and wherever podcasts are available.
