Broadcasters Foundation Sets June 18 for NYC Media Mixer

The Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA) has announced the next installment of its popular Media Mixer series, set for Wednesday, June 18, from 5:30 to 7:30pm ET at iHeartMedia's New York City studios at 125 West 55th Street, 12th Floor.

The event, created to connect up-and-coming broadcast professionals with peers and industry executives, also serves to raise awareness about the BFOA's mission of providing financial assistance to broadcasters in need.

This year's NYC gathering will be co-hosted by Angela Yee, BFOA Ambassador and nationally syndicated host of Way Up with Angela Yee, which airs locally on iHeartMedia's WWPR (Power 105.1). Yee, who co-hosts The Breakfast Club, will be joined by Pedro Rivera, reporter and anchor for ABC7's Eyewitness News. The evening will conclude with a performance by Long Island singer/songwriter Camryn Quinlan.

"We are thrilled that there has been such an overwhelmingly positive response to our Media Mixers," said BFOA President Tim McCarthy. "During today's dramatic changes in the media landscape, more broadcast professionals -- entry, junior, and senior levels -- want to get together to exchange experiences and brainstorm for the future."

McCarthy added, "We ask everyone in broadcasting who knows about the work we do at the Broadcasters Foundation to please share that with everyone in our business. We want to reach everyone in television and radio, across all markets -- large and small -- to let them know we are here to help. It is a tragedy if a broadcaster who needs our help doesn't apply because they don't know about us."

The Media Mixer is free to attend, but registration is required. Previous events have been held in New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. For more information about the Broadcasters Foundation of America, or to donate or apply for aid, visit broadcastersfoundation.org.
