WTOP News in Washington, DC, has unveiled its latest project, "Founding DC," a podcast that delves into the stories of local entrepreneurs and their business endeavors. The series, sponsored by NFP, is hosted by Dan Simons, a well-known local restaurateur and entrepreneur.

"Founding DC" promises an engaging format, recorded in front of a live studio audience at WTOP Studios in Chevy Chase, MD. The podcast will feature in-depth discussions with DC area founders, offering a platform to explore the trials and triumphs of their entrepreneurial journeys. According to Dan Simons, the mission of the podcast is to "pay it forward by spotlighting the unique paths forged by local founders. By sharing their stories, we hope to spark new ideas and connections, and ultimately celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship that makes our community thrive."

The initial episodes are set to provide listeners with an exclusive look into the entrepreneurial insights of Seth Goldman, co-founder of Eat the Change and Honest Tea, and chair of Beyond Meat; and Mark Ein, an entrepreneur, Chairman of Kastle Systems, and minority owner of the Washington Commanders.

Joel Oxley, President of WTOP News, emphasized the station's community role, stating, "As part of the community, WTOP News is a leader in engaging audiences across the region. With this endeavor, we're raising the profile of entrepreneurship in DC by connecting the local people and stories that make up the heart of DC's thriving business community through content that is both interactive and multimedia."

Listeners can expect to hear stories about the inception of these business ventures, the core values guiding their leaders, and the innovative strategies that drive their successes. Each episode aims to provide not only inspiration but also practical insights, from discussing missed opportunities to game-changing failures.

"Founding DC" episodes will be recorded before an audience of approximately 50 local business leaders and influencers. The podcast is supported by Shulman Rogers and is available for subscription on various platforms, with further details and updates featured on WTOP News.
