Syndicated radio personality Delilah, known as the most-listened-to woman on radio, marked Mother's Day with a trio of high-profile features highlighting her decades-long commitment to love, connection, and community.
Delilah appeared on NBC Nightly News in a "Good News" segment with correspondent Hallie Jackson. The interview explored her passion for spreading hope and comfort through her nightly radio show, which reaches millions of listeners. "I try to pour a lot of hope out. I love to share that at night," Delilah told Jackson. She also spoke about embracing social media, especially TikTok, which has introduced her to a younger generation of fans. "It's like I opened up this portal to a whole new world," she said.
In a feature story for People magazine, Delilah opened up about her deep connection with her audience and her intuitive process of selecting songs that match callers' stories and emotions. She described the multigenerational loyalty of her fans as deeply meaningful. "When somebody says, 'I grew up listening to you. I made my kids listen to you, growing up in the backseat of the car, now my grandkids...' When you're a part of the fiber of somebody's life, of their family, there's no higher compliment," she said.
Delilah also shared her reflections with Digital Journal, discussing the evolution of her career and celebrating Mother's Day with her family. She noted how digital platforms have changed her listener interactions without altering the essence of her show. "They used to just interact with me on the phone lines but now they interact with me via Facebook and TikTok, especially TikTok, where I get immediate feedback," she said. "Being a part of the different people's generations is fun."
