All Classical Radio in Portland, OR has announced that President and CEO Suzanne Nance will step down later this year, concluding a decade-long tenure marked by growth, innovation, and national recognition. Nance will relocate to Ireland to join her husband, conductor and composer Desmond Earley, and take on a leadership role with a prominent European arts organization.
Nance, who joined the Portland-based public radio station in 2015, is credited with transforming All Classical Radio into a cultural force in the region and beyond. Her leadership saw the launch of the International Children's Arts Network (ICAN), the construction of a state-of-the-art broadcast facility in downtown Portland, and record-setting audience growth.
"Suzanne has transformed All Classical Radio into a world-class cultural institution," said Board Chair Elaine Durst. "Her vision, creativity, and dedication to excellence have inspired all of us, and her impact will be felt for generations."
During her tenure, Nance emphasized community engagement, expanded digital offerings to reach global listeners, and forged partnerships to reflect and amplify the diversity of the Pacific Northwest arts scene.
"I am deeply grateful for this extraordinary chapter of my life," said Nance. "It has been an honor to lead this remarkable organization and to work alongside a phenomenal Board of Directors and our ever-inspiring Board Chair Elaine Durst. We truly have an exceptional team, and a vibrant, supportive community of listeners. While I am excited for this new chapter in Ireland, I will always carry Portland and All Classical in my heart."
The All Classical Radio Board of Directors will initiate a national search for Nance's successor in the coming weeks.
