Alternative WPLY-FM (Y100) was taken off the air ten years ago on February 24, 2005. On that same day, Y100 Program Director Jim McGuinn and Promotions Director Josh T. Landow launched Y100Rocks.com as a petition to bring the station back to the airwaves and as an online streaming station. While Y100 never returned to a fulltime FM signal, the station has lived on, through a couple of name changes, for a decade. Now broadcasting as Y-Not Radio (at YNotRadio.net and iRadioPhilly.com) the online outlet continues to be an Indie Rock taste maker and supporter of the local Philadelphia music scene.
To celebrate the 10-year anniversary, former DJs from the past decade such as Jim McGuinn, Dan Fein, Marilyn Russell, Liam Static, Jeff St. Pierre, John Von, Marco, Cat, Heather, Adam B., Jake Rabid, Caseygirl, Andre and more will rejoin current longtime hosts Josh T. Landow, Joey O., Matt McGrath, Rob Huff, Matt Summers and Adrienne to look back at 10 years worth of musical highlights and memories. Guest DJs will infiltrate Y-Not Radio's usual lineup starting this Wednesday, through mid-March. More details and exact timeslots will be available at www.YNotRadio.net.
