GAP Broadcasting Group is expanding with the addition of GAP East, a newly formed division to be headed by 25-year industry vet James Donahoe. GAP East joins GAP Broadcasting and GAP West and will focus on acquiring and managing radio properties in markets east of the Mississippi. Donahoe most recently served as CEO of the Millennium Radio Group.
Donahoe said, "GAP Group is committed to the industry, and the current economic environment provides a great opportunity for further investment. During my tenures with Infinity, SFX, Capstar, AMFM, and Millennium, the emphasis was on creating local media outlets that were an integral part of their communities. This was a successful strategy and has even more potential today when coupled with innovative digital initiatives."
Donahoe resigned as President/CEO of Millennium Radio in October, 2008. He had served as President/CEO since the company was founded in 2002. Prior to that, Donahoe was a Regional VP for Clear Channel.
