Missing Data Prompts Nielsen to Re-issue Dec PPM Results

Nielsen began re-issuing PPM monthly results on Monday, December 31 with re-stated audience estimates for the first 24 markets that were issued last week (December 26, 27), along with the remaining 24 unreleased markets. The ratings had reportedly been under counted on December 3 and 4 after a server restart missed the data. Nielsen notified it subscribers on Friday, December 28 and re-compiled the results last weekend.

Nielsen cited a "data processing issue" for the reissue and said it "completed the reprocessing and quality checks" and all the December Week 4 and December Monthly data would now be available.

"We performed extra validation steps during this past weekend. All data was processed appropriately and clients can use the restated data with confidence," Nielsen told its clients in an update.
