WCI Acquires Seven Stations in Springfield, Bloomington IL

Woodward Communications Inc. (WCI) has acquired seven radio brands from Neuhoff Media in Springfield and Bloomington, IL. The sale was completed Tuesday. The additions in Springfield include Country WFMB (104.5), Sports W222CG (92.3), Sports WFMB-AM (1450), AC WXAJ (99-7 The Mix), Adult Hits WCVS (96.7 BOB FM) and digital platform Channel 1450.
In Bloomington, WCI adds WBWB (Rock 96.7), AC WWHX (Now 100.7) and Adult Hits WBBE (BOB FM 97.9).
WCI President/CEO Tom Woodward stated, "We are pleased to announce that today we successfully consummated the acquisition of Neuhoff Media's radio stations and brands based in Springfield and Bloomington, IL. Over the past couple of months we have gotten to know each other better, shared ideas, aspirations, etc. which in turn has created positive momentum and energy on which we can enhance our capabilities to serve our customers and communities."
WCI says the acquired brands align with its focus on local community media properties in certain market sizes that serve niche and lifestyle audiences. They expand WCI's footprint in Illinois and bring experienced teams and talent to the employee-owned company.
