The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has revoked the licenses of KYKM-FM in Yoakum, Texas, and KTXM-FM) in Hallettsville, TX, known as Texas Thunder Radio, after their licensee, Kremling Enterprises, Inc., failed to pay regulatory fees totaling $14,222.60 spanning fiscal years 2017 through 2024.
The action, issued May 30, 2025, by the FCC's Media Bureau and Office of Managing Director, followed multiple notices and a February 2025 "Order to Pay or to Show Cause" that went unanswered by Kremling. Despite being formally served via certified mail and email, the company neither paid the debt nor responded to the order.
FCC regulations require licensees to pay annual regulatory fees to offset costs of certain regulatory activities. The Commission assessed additional interest and penalties for each missed deadline, with amounts accruing over time. According to the revocation order, Kremling Enterprises had outstanding balances for both stations across seven separate fiscal years.
"The Licensee has failed to pay its regulatory fee debt and does not dispute that it is obligated to pay the debt," the FCC stated in its order. "We conclude revocation is appropriate."
With this decision, all authority to operate the stations has been terminated and the call signs deleted from the Commission's database. Renewal applications filed in 2021 were also dismissed.
The FCC noted that this action does not absolve Kremling Enterprises of its obligation to pay the outstanding debt, which will continue to accrue interest until paid.
