Wild Bill Lewis Takes Afternoons at WNWN/Battle Creek

After 19 years on the air with Mid-West Family Broadcasting, Radio Personality "Wild Bill" Lewis has announced he has accepted an afternoon position with WNWN "Win 98.5 FM" radio in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Bill began his career at Mid-West Family Broadcasting in 1996 as an afternoon announcer on WIRX. He moved to 97.5 Y-Country afternoons in the fall of 1996 and moved to mornings in 1997.

"To say Bill has been immersed in this community is an understatement! He has truly made his mark here," commented Paul Layendecker, Director of Operations for Y-Country. Bill has always been everyone's "friend," kids, families, farmers, veterans, everyone!" "His "Fishin' is fun for Kid's" Day, Farm Tour and May We Thank You promotions are perfect examples." Lewis also hosted dozens of community Blossomtime pageants, volunteered for Junior Achievement and spoke regularly at area school career days.

Bill says: "I've always felt a special connection to the listeners. It goes so far beyond just playing music and talking thru a microphone. I feel so fortunate to have experienced that." His last day will be Friday, July 17.

A search is on for Lewis' replacement. Long-time and well known Southwest Michigan radio personality Mark Durocher, will be the interim host of the Y-Country morning show.
