Luke Matthews Joins KIOA/Des Moines Morning Show

Luke Matthews is the new morning co-host at Classic Hits KIOA-FM/Des Moines for "Luke & Amy" from 6-10am. He's a 20-year broadcast veteran that previously ran the digital operations at Saga's Des Moines Radio Group. Matthews is a graduate of Valley High School and Iowa State University. He started at the radio group as an intern in the late 1990s. He decided early in his career he wanted to be behind the scenes, taking a job as promotions director for KIOA.

"We have a passionate audience on that station," said Matthews. "I want to continue to respect the listeners and legacy of the station and put on a good show."

Matthews replaces Maxwell Schaffer, who left in May and is now Director of Promotions and Marketing at crosstown iHeartMedia.
