KFBK (NewsRadio KFBK) Sacramento taps Sam Shane as co-anchor and host of "The KFBK Morning News," weekdays from 5-9am, effective April 1. He joins co-host Cristina Mendonsa on the morning program to deliver the latest local, national and breaking news and analysis. Shane has more than 30 years of experience in broadcast journalism and investigative reporting. His career includes stints at KCRA-TV and CBS 13 Sacramento, KGO-TV San Francisco, Fox TV Seattle and as a national anchor for MSNBC.

"We're thrilled that Sam is joining NewsRadio KFBK," said iHeartMedia Sacramento Senior VP/Programming Curtiss Johnson. "He and Cristina will break down the day's news and explain exactly how that news affects Sacramento and Northern Californians, providing insights beyond the headlines."

"Sam's deep roots in our community and his connections in the Capital City mean that he has a wealth of experience, perspective and views to draw upon that will give clarity and perspective to the day's events," said added PD Bill White. "It's that wealth of experience, intellect and analysis that will help make 'The KFBK Morning News' so much more than just a utility and download of daily data."

"I'm delighted to join Cristina and the entire team at NewsRadio KFBK," said Shane. "Listeners can expect a show packed with engaging, relevant and meaningful stories from around the word -- with an emphasis on the local events that impact them right here in Northern California."

In addition to reporting on-air, Shane's news stories will be featured on KFBK.com and its social media channels.
