30-year radio vet Brian Shannon joins KGON-FM/Portland as morning co-host with Terry Boyd on "Terry Boyd's World," weekdays from 5:30-9am PT, effective July 8. Prior to joining the Entercom Classic Rock outlet, Shannon served as an editor and anchor for News 92 FM in Houston. He previously held various on-air roles for KFNC/Houston, KEGL-FM/Dallas and KLOL-FM (now Houston sister station Mega 101 FM), where he was a longtime member of the "Stevens & Pruett" show. On KEGL-FM, Shannon was producer and voice of co-host Eddie "The Boner Sanchez."
"Brian's outstanding comedic talents and timing will combine with Terry's tremendous market equity to give Portland its most unique, entertaining and compelling morning show in years," said Entercom Portland Senior VP/Market Manager Kim Martinez. "The instant chemistry between Brian and Terry was astounding. The timing is right and the market is ready for someone who can add fuel to the fire that is 'Terry Boyd's World.'"
"I am incredibly excited to be going home to radio and to be working alongside one of Portland's best, Terry Boyd," added Shannon. "Radio is my happy place and I'm planning to be a part of this station and this city for a long time."
