WWKL-FM (Hot 106.7)/Harrisburg, PA, morning hosts Ryan "DJ Puff" Downes and Steph Pagliaro, aka "The Morning Madhouse," exit the Cumulus Media CHR outlet. Concurrently, PD/morning talent Charles "Chachi" Angelo exits co-owned Country WZCY (93.5 NASH FM), while co-host Jenna Clay remains in another unnamed post. No replacements have been named as their positions were eliminated.
In a post on Downes' Facebook, he wrote, "Yesterday, my position/show at Hot 106.7 was eliminated and I was let go. My world has been turned upside down and I am left feeling lost. To my listeners who may see this: You were the reason I got up so damn early everyday. I have shared my life with you and you have shared yours with me. We have laughed and yes a few times we have cried together. I will feel forever grateful and honored that you let me be a part of your lives."
Pagliaro wrote on her Facebook page, "Radio is a tough business right now. Several positions were cut and mine was one of them. I am still in shock and I'm not sure when I'll be ready to accept it. Heartbreak doesn't even begin to describe what I feel. This was never a "job" to me... it was my passion, my heart, my life, and all I wanted to do. Now my heart feels empty. Thank you to everyone who has reached out during this difficult time.:
Angelo had been with WZCY for seven years. "Radio doesn't mess around," he said. "When you get fired in radio, it's not like, 'all right, you're going to be here another two weeks.' When you're fired, you're fired."
WZCY airs "NASH Nights Live" and "The Blair Garner Show" and, according to sources, is likely replace the morning slot with another syndicated program.
