KBME (SportsTalk 790)/Houston host Stan Norfleet is out as part of a nationwide reduction in workforce by iHeartMedia on Monday. Norfleet announced his departure on X, expressing surprise over the decision, especially since he had recently extended his contract. He remained optimistic about his future, stating his gratitude for his time at the station.

Norfleet, 43, joined SportsTalk 790 in February, 2023 to co-host the "Next Up" program alongside Chris Gordy, filling the slot previously held by N.D. Kalu. In response to the layoff, the station has adjusted its schedule, moving the "Matt Thomas Show with Ross" to air from 10am-2pm.

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Norfleet played college football at Virginia and Texas Southern. He transitioned into radio after brief stints in sales with the Texans and Rockets, starting his broadcasting career in 2011. He became a TV analyst for the ACC Network in 2015 and later joined WFNZ-FM in Charlotte before returning to Houston.
