NRG Media/Omaha Names Lynn as Operations Mgr.

NRG Media/Omaha names 20-year broadcast vet Jeff Lynn as Operations Manager of its seven-station cluster there beginning October 25. The local group consists of KQKQ-FM (Q98.5), KOPW-FM (Power 106.9), KOOO-FM (Big O 101.9), KOZN-AM (1620 The Zone), Zone2, KKAR-AM (The Mighty 1290) and La Nueva. His previous stints include stations in Milwaukee, Madison, Des Moines and Waterloo. Lynn is also credited as the creator of the CR "Brew" format.

"Jeff is credited with creating new music formats that are designed to truly target a specific niche audience. He understands the relevance of a radio station's brand to the listener, the advertiser, and the needs of both. That's an art today -- especially as the desires of these unique customer groups are constantly changing," said Market Manager Andy Ruback.

"Our ongoing effort will be to refine our strategies for the digital and social media platforms to ensure all stations are effectively engaging our loyal listeners. This is incredibly important as radio serves as the driver of the mass reach message provided over the air which is then communicated on-line via the website, through mobile applications, and using social media devices such as Facebook and Twitter," added Lynn.

Lynn joins NRG Media-Omaha after having successfully led properties owned by other broadcast companies including Clear Channel, Entercom and Jacor Media stations where he served as Director of Programming.
