SummitMedia/Greenville Appoints Elroy Smith OM

SummitMedia appoints Elroy Smith as Operations Manager of its cluster in Greenville-Spartanburg. He'll oversee programming and ops of Urban WJMZ-FM (107.3 Jamz), CHR WHZT-FM (Hot 98.1), Adult Hits W249CB-FM (97.7 Chuck FM) and Alternative W253BG-FM (X98.5). Most recently, Smith served as Radio One's Director of Inspirational Programming and OM of its cluster in Philadelphia, adding the newly-created Format Director duties in July, 2009. Previously, he programmed the cluster's Urban WPHI-FM (100.3 The Beat).

Prior to his move to Philadelphia in 2007, Smith was OM of Clear Channel's Urban WGCI-FM and OM/PD of Urban AC WVAZ-FM (V103)/Chicago. Smith joined WGCI as PD in 1992, adding similar duties at WVAZ in October, 2000. He's also programmed the company's Black Gospel WPZE-FM/Charlotte and Gospel WPPZ-FM (Praise 103.9) and Urban AC WRNB-FM/Philadelphia.
