WRKN-FM Re-Brands as Gulf South's Country Giant


Cumulus Media rebrands WRKN-FM (NASH FM 92.3)/New Orleans as "The Gulf South's Country Giant.. New Orleans, Baton Rouge... NASH FM 92.3." WRKN-FM serves the New Orleans and Baton Rouge metros and the entire Gulf South, via a 2,000-foot radio tower at 100 kW. As the station re-brands, it'll move from a contemporary Country format to its new mass-appeal Country format featuring Country Gold programming, paired with today's best Country music.

The re-branded station's core programming is centered in the 90's golden age of Country music, and will also include current Country artists, offering a wide variety of Country music with a broader appeal among persons 25-54. Core artists will include: Garth Brooks, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, and the Zac Brown Band.

Country radio personality Scott Innes kicked off WRKN-FM's new brand at 10am on Thursday, April 21. Innes joins the new on-air line-up in midday from 10am-3pm. The weekday line-up now features "America's Morning Show with Blair Garner" from 6-10am, Shawn Williams from 3-7pm, NASH Nights Live from 7pm-midnight and Kix Brooks from midnight-5am.
