Radio One Moves ''Mildred Gaddis Show'' to FM Dial

"The Mildred Gaddis Show," which has been a staple in Detroit on AM 1200, will move to the FM band on WPZR-FM (Praise 102.7) from 10am-noon after the closing of the deal that sold WCHB. Crawford Broadcasting agreed to acquire the Radio one outlet for $2 million last April. Gaddis, who is commemorating 40 years in radio, has also joined the hometown "Mason and COCO in the Morning Show" doing daily personality news cut-ins on KISS 105.9 FM. "The Tom Joyner Morning Show," which is simulcast on AM 1200, will continue to air weekdays from 6-10am on 99.9 FM.

"We have sold our AM talk radio facility and are proud of the heritage role the station has held in Detroit. We view this as an opportunity to move the WCHB voice to a larger FM platform and intend to super-serve our listeners with urban music, community engagement and inspiration -- what we do best," said VP/General Manager Kathy Stinehour.
