Morning personality Tommy McFly is out at Entercom Hot AC WIAD-FM (94.7 Fresh FM) Washington, DC, along with four other on-air staffers, reports DCRTV.com. McFly, who has been dubbed "Washington's Ryan Seacrest," joined in November, 2010, for afternoons from crosstown rival WRQX-FM (Mix 107.3) where he handled nights. McFly is also a contributor to NBC4 and a frequent host of events such as the White House Easter Egg Roll.
Entercom Washington Senior VP Phil Zachary confirmed that McFly is out and his show had been canceled. He told the Washington Post, "We're hoping to use him in a different capacity, but the show as it existed will no longer exist. He's incredibly talented and has a fabulous attitude."
