Veteran Music Director and longtime air personality Borna Velic takes over the programming reins of WHQG-FM (102.9 The Hog)/Milwaukee filling the vacated seat of Joe Calgaro, effective October 19. Borna has spent his career in the Midwest working in rock radio, leaving Appleton in 2013 to join The Hog. In addition to programming The Hog, Borna will continue as host of the afternoon show with sidekick Mitch Paget.

General Manager Annmarie Topel stated, "Borna has been a major contributor since he joined us and an integral part of The Hog's success. He has great music intuition and knowledge of the format, coupled with a solid analytical ability that is essential in programming. It doesn't hurt that the staff likes and respects him."

Saga Communications Vice President of Programming Bob Lawrence commented, "Borna was not only the most logical choice but far and away the best choice. He has proven to be an extremely strong, creative force at The Hog, and I'm just so pleased that we could pass him the baton."

Velic shared, "I am beyond thrilled to work with the incredibly talented team already in place at The Hog. It has been a tremendous experience working alongside former PD, Joe Calgaro. I want to thank Ed Christian, Annmarie Topel and Bob Lawrence for giving me the opportunity to build upon The Hog's success."
