Mike Kaplan Steps Down as KROQ/Los Angeles Brand Manager
RADIO ONLINE | Wednesday, March 16, 2022 |
Mike Kaplan steps down as Brand Manager at Audacy's KROQ-FM/Los Angeles. The Senior VP of Programming assumed programming responsibilities for the Alternative outlet in February, 2020, in addition to his current roles as the company's Alternative Format Captain and Brand Manager for WNYL-FM (ALT 92.3) in New York.
Audacy said, "Mike Kaplan has decided to step down as KROQ Brand Manager. Mike has come to the conclusion, personally and professionally, that this is best for him. He also believes KROQ deserves a Brand Manager solely dedicated to the brand and one that lives in Los Angeles 24/7. Mike will continue on as Brand Manager at New York's Alt 92.3 and as Audacy's Alternative Format VP. Our search for a new VP of Programming for KROQ begins today."
Kaplan returned to then Entercom as Senior VP/Programming and Brand Manager for ALT 92.3 in May, 2018 and was named Alternative Format Captain in 2019. During his first stint with the company, he served as PD for sister stations KNDD-FM (107.7 The End)/Seattle and KRBZ-FM (96.5 The Buzz)/Kansas City. Other career highlights include Program Director roles for iHeartRadio's KYSR-FM/Los Angeles and Nassau Broadcasting's WJLK and WBBO.
