Veteran Tampa morning personality Jack Harris is out at iHeartMedia's News/Talk WFLA, W233AV and W256CT/Tampa in a cost-cutting move. The "AM Tampa Bay" co-host, 81, was let go after his show Wednesday, March 29. During his three tenues, he had worked for WFLA from 1970-1974, 1975-1985 and since 1993. During that timespan, he also held stints at WFLZ and WRBQ (Q105), WTVT-TV (FOX 13) and WFLA-TV.

Harris told the Tampa Bay Times, "After I signed off from my show at 7am today, iHeartRadio bosses told me that they were cutting back on expenses and had to let me go." He also told the newspaper he heard Ryan Gorman's 7-10am show will add his show's 5-7am hours.

Harris also said that did not get a chance to do a final show to say goodbye, and he asked the newspaper to "just tell them (the fans) that they have been great to me over the years. They are what I will miss most." He added, "I might look for part time work on the radio somewhere. Or maybe I will retire. I am an old geezer after all."
