WFMT Classical Radio in Chicago is set to enhance its programming with the addition of a new weekly series showcasing The Cleveland Orchestra, recognized globally as one of the premier orchestral ensembles. The series is slated to debut on January 13 as part of WFMT's Orchestra Series, a national platform presenting distinguished orchestras from around the globe.

Under the baton of its long-standing Music Director Franz Welser-Most, along with guest conductors such as Daniel Harding, Rafael Payare, Dalia Stasevska and Barbara Hannigan, The Cleveland Orchestra will bring a rich repertoire to the airwaves. The inaugural broadcast features Mahler's grand "Symphony No. 2, Resurrection." The season promises a diverse selection of compositions, including Bartok's vibrant Suite from "The Miraculous Mandarin," the second symphonies of both Sibelius and Tchaikovsky, and Brahms' "Piano Concerto No. 1," performed by virtuoso Daniil Trifonov.

WFMT and WTTW President and CEO Sandra Cordova Micek expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "WFMT is honored to bring the artistry of The Cleveland Orchestra to our listeners. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to enriching lives, engaging communities, and inspiring exploration through classical music."
