A high-speed crash into the Coast Radio Group building Friday afternoon left one woman dead and three others injured, including the driver of the vehicle, reports WLOX-TV. Fire Chief Billy Kelley said the incident occurred around 1:30pm at the intersection of Seaway Road and Cowan Lorraine Road. A gray BMW reportedly barreled through the intersection at approximately 80 miles per hour before crashing into the radio station offices, which house Coast 102, Kicker 108, and 95.3 Gorilla.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer confirmed that 59-year-old Liz Thornburg, who was inside the building at the time, was killed in the crash. Thornburg had been a beloved member of the Coast Radio Group team for over a decade.

Three other individuals, including the driver, were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed. Police have not released information about what caused the crash, and no charges have been filed as of Saturday. Gulfport Police are continuing their investigation.

On Saturday, 95.3 Gorilla shared a heartfelt tribute to Thornburg on its Facebook page:

"It is with deep sadness that we share the tragic loss of our dear friend and longtime teammate, Liz Thornburg. Liz had been part of the Coast Radio Group family for over a decade and if you've ever visited our office, chances are you were greeted by her smile! We are devastated by this unimaginable loss. Liz was truly one of a kind, and her absence leaves a piece missing in our hearts and our halls. Please keep her family, friends, and our entire team in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate moving forward."

This isn't the first serious crash at the intersection. In 2015, another wreck occurred just next to the Coast Radio Group building, when a vehicle struck a nearby well station, triggering a chlorine leak and sending five people to the hospital.
