Chaparral Sells Three to Resonate Hawaii for $500K

Chaparral Broadcasting has agreed to sell three stations in Hawaii to Resonate Hawaii LLC for $500,000. Included in the deal are KIPA-AM (1060/5kw) and KHBC-FM (92.7/7.5kw) in Hilo along with KHWI-FM (92.1 mHz with 4,500 watts) in Honolulu. All three stations are currently off the air. Chaparral principal is Jerrold T. Lundquist, who owns stations in Hawaii, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
Resonate Managing Partner is Dan Deeb with a 49% interest, Carla Maria Morris owns 30% and Deanna Stenmen 1%. An Australian trust owns the remaining 20% interest. The applicant also owns KTBH-AM (1060/5kw)/Kurtistown, Hawaii.
Kozacko Media Services brokered the deal.
