Triton Teams with Jacobs, Salkowitz for Jelli Radio
RADIO ONLINE | , , |
Triton Media signs with Rock radio consultancy Jacobs Media, and consultant and CHR programmer Joel Salkowitz, to contribute to Dial Global's development of the recently announced "Jelli" syndicated programs. Jelli is a multi-player web-based game that lets people completely control the songs that go on the air.
Jelli's unique live syndicated radio show, says Triton, will enable listeners to determine the music playlist in real time. Salkowitz will contribute formatting, imaging and music management expertise for the Top 40 version of the Jelli radio show, and Jacobs Media will advise the company on the Rock version.
"Interest is high in the crowd-sourced programming concept, and quality broadcasters are already making inquires," commented Dial Global President/Programming Kirk Stirland, who is creating the radio shows based on Jelli's proprietary technology. "The contribution of Jacobs and Salkowitz insure this potentially break-through concept will fit effectively on radio stations nationally."
"We're excited about this initiative with Jelli and Dial Global," added Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs. "This is a perfect marriage of music programming and digital platforms -- right in the sweet spot of our company."
"Radio has typically limited audience input to telephone requests or, more recently, e-mails and text messages. I'm looking forward to working with Jelli to offer radio listeners a truly interactive experience," added Salkowitz. "People are demanding more and more control of their music listening experience and Jelli gives radio stations a real way to deliver that."
Jelli's syndicated radio programming will be launched in January.
