Emmis/New York taps Fred "Bugsy" Buggs as the new Assistant Program Director at Urban AC WRKS-FM (98.7 Kiss FM). Buggs is an 18-year company vet and previously served as a midday personality at Kiss FM's sister Rhythmic CHR WQHT-FM (Hot 97). Most recently, he served as the producer for "The Tom Joyner Morning Show," a position he will continue to occupy.
"Bugsy has extensive knowledge about the market and its history. He has been a great example of someone who has a solid history here at Emmis NY and has done everything from midday jock on HOT 97 to being the Tom Joyner Morning Show producer," said PD Jay Dixon. "Bugsy is a well rounded talent in all areas with great leadership skills, is committed to our mission and is the ideal person to solidify the KISS brand."
"This completes a solid programming team to ensure the success of KISS FM and the movement up the ranker to KISS FM's rightful position. I am confident that is only a few months away," states Senior VP General Manager Alex Cameron.
"I'm humbled," expressed Buggs. "It's great to be on the management team for Emmis New York, a place I've called home for quite some time now and where I've spent most of my career. I'm looking forward to continued growth opportunities and bigger things to come with my Kiss family and am just ready to win and keep the successes going."
