iHM Latin Stations Team for Puerto Rico Relief
RADIO ONLINE | Monday, September 25, 2017 |
iHeartMedia's Latin stations Rumba Tampa, Rumba Orlando, Rumba Jacksonville and 97.1 Oi2 teamed up for a three-day fundraiser beginning Friday, September 22 called "Activados Por Puerto Rico." It's to benefit the victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico. Throughout the weekend the live broadcast featured live interviews with known artists, personalities, community leaders and government officials.
Listeners were directed to activadosporpuertorico.com or encouraged to donate via text at 407-898-1580. Funds benefit Unidos Por Puerto Rico, an initiative created by the office of Puerto Rico's first lady, Beatriz Rossello, to assist the victims of the hurricanes in Puerto Rico. Additionally, iHR air personalities from all three Florida markets will be encouraging listeners to donate non-perishable food items and clothing to various drop-off locations across Florida.
Parallel to these efforts, iHeartMedia also supported Telemundo's "Todo Unidos" telethon by promoting it across its radio stations nationwide, and simulcasting the telethon across all its Latin stations and on iHeartRadio on Sunday, September 24.
