Cayuga Radio Group launches Keep It Local Initiative

Keep It Local

Ithaca's Cayuga Radio Group's ten radio oulets have launched a new business initiative titled "Keep It Local" this week. The program consists of local businesses that all receive custom messages over and above their advertising. These messages are from business owners and operators conveying the importance of their businesses within and to the community.

"Our team has been developing this program and this is a natural extension of our work. It started as an "Ithaca Shops Local" concept and has continued to expand over the years," said Cayuga Radio Group President and General Manager Chet Osadchey. "Spending money with local and regional businesses results in a greater percentage of money back to our community, it has a multiplier effect that is very positive. We wanted to further it visually and auditorily."

"We strongly believe that consumers support these businesses to a greater degree when they are reminded that these businesses are owned and operated by their friends, their neighbors, and are the heart of our community and region. This is about a choice to consumers. They should choose products and services sourced in and around our city and state over products whose profits leave our state and our country," added Osadchey.

In addition to the radio messaging, consumers will see window stickers, bumper stickers, web listings, and digital campaigns. A listing is free, and additional options are available on a customized basis.
