KVIT-FM (88.7 The Pulse), a high school station operated by the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) in Mesa, AZ, is gearing up for its inaugural Rock-A-Thon-a 48-hour live broadcast fundraiser kicking off at 3pm on Friday, May 2 and running non-stop through 3pm on Sunday, May 4.

The marathon event will feature continuous live programming led by student broadcasters, including on-air performances, interviews with special guests, and appearances by alumni and local personalities. The celebration continues with an "Encore After Party" from 3-6pm on Sunday, highlighting live in-studio performances from student and local musicians.

"This Rock-A-Thon is a celebration of student creativity and a call to support hands-on media education," said Michael Mallace, General Manager of 88.7 The Pulse. "It's fun, fast-paced, and community-driven-and it truly shows what our students are capable of."

Proceeds from the event will go toward upgrading aging broadcast equipment, sustaining station operations, and expanding media education opportunities for students pursuing careers in broadcasting and audio production.

A two-time winner of the Best High School Radio Station in the Nation by the John Drury High School Radio Awards, 88.7 The Pulse continues to showcase the power of student-run media while inviting the community to support its future through this weekend-long broadcast.
