WGN-AM/Chicago will bring back hosts Bob Sirott and John Records Landecker for another night of radio nostalgia with an expanded edition of "For Radio Geeks Only." The three-hour special will air Friday, August 15, from 7-10pm.
The duo first teamed up in July for a one-hour program reminiscing about their days as music DJs, which drew strong listener response. "Listeners to our first 'For Radio Geeks Only' special told us they wanted more - and John and I did, too! We're glad to bring it back with an even longer show this time," Sirott said.
The program will revisit the era before streaming, cable, VCRs, DVDs, and smartphones, when rock and roll radio was a primary source of entertainment. Sirott and Landecker will share favorite jingles and welcome special guests, including 1960s disc jockey Ron Riley and former WGN morning host Spike O'Dell.
Following its broadcast, the show will be available as a podcast at wgnradio.com.
