CBS Radio News is losing a number of journalists after its distributor Westwood One reduced its fees, reports the New York Post. The newspaper says that senior correspondents and executives were offered buy-outs in advance of CBS Radio's upcoming spin-off from CBS Corporation. Exiting are Executive Producer Charlie Kaye (34 years), Washington correspondent Barry Bagnato (30 years), afternoon anchor Harley Carnes (24 years) and "CBS World News" anchor Bill Whitney (32 years).
CBS News VP/Radio Harvey Nagler announced in November he would retire from the company and the beginning of 2107. The spin-off of CBS Radio is likely to happen in early 2017. The ticker symbol will be CBSR.
