Kidde, a leading brand in fire safety, has announced an expansion of its Cause For Alarm program, in collaboration with iHeartMedia and The Home Depot. The initiative seeks to bridge the education gap in fire and CO safety and promote community well-being through events and educational outreach at selected The Home Depot locations nationwide, alongside extensive promotional efforts from iHeartMedia.

Since its inception in 2022, the Cause For Alarm program has focused on making fire and CO detection more affordable and accessible, crucially aiming to equip homes with functioning smoke and CO alarms and ensuring families have a fire escape strategy. Notable among its efforts is the "Beeps That Last, Get Out Fast" initiative, a program teaching children the immediate steps to take when a fire alarm sounds. This initiative was later evolved into "The Living Jingle," a poignant campaign delivered through song by children who have experienced house fires.

Highlighting the urgency of the campaign, statistics show that nearly 60% of home fire deaths occur in properties lacking functional smoke alarms. Responding to this dire need, Kidde has donated smoke and CO alarms valued over $6.4 million in the past three years to under-resourced communities across North America. A notable gesture included a $400,000 product donation announced at a recent event in New York City, honoring the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), complemented by a $25,000 donation from iHeartMedia New York to the FDNY Foundation.

The 2025 schedule for the Cause For Alarm events includes key cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, where the program will interact directly with the community, providing vital safety information and engaging activities. The inaugural event of the year occurred on March 1 at a Bronx-based The Home Depot, drawing hundreds of attendees who participated in various fire safety activities and enjoyed entertainment provided by iHeartMedia New York.

Ivanette Bonilla, Chief Communications and Government Relations Officer at Kidde, emphasized the enduring partnerships powering this initiative: "Our partners at The Home Depot and iHeartMedia have been pivotal since the beginning of Cause For Alarm, aiding in the distribution of life-saving devices. Our collaborative approach is evolving to make safety both accessible and engaging."

Steve DeLusant, Regional Manager for iHeartMedia New York, and Allison Snow, Associate Merchant for The Home Depot, both highlighted their organizations' commitment to promoting safety and educating the public, leveraging their extensive networks and customer base to make a significant impact.
