Tatum Named Market Manager for Bustos/Seattle

Management vet Ricky Tatum is appointed Market Manager of Bustos Media's cluster in Seattle, including Regional Mexican outlets KDDS-FM and Spanish Oldies KTBK-AM, effective July 14. Previously Tatum managed KKHI-FM/Denver, which is currently awaiting closing on a sale to WAY-FM. Tatum also oversees the company's group in Portland, OR.

"From the first time I met Ricky, I knew he was the kind of radio pro that we needed in this company going forward. Ricky's big market experience and Northwest knowledge from his time in Portland makes him the natural choice to lead Seattle to the next level of success," said President/CEO Jay Meyers. "Ricky's arrival in Seattle is a game changer and I look forward to his building a great operation which will take full advantage of the opportunity in Spanish language once the new census comes out. "

Added Tatum, "I cannot explain how excited I am to be coming to Seattle. Jay Meyers has brought a brand new spirit to this company, one that is based on performance and not process, where we're expected to use our best judgment, make our numbers and have fun. How refreshing is that!"

Tatum's career in radio management began with All Pro Broadcasting/Los Angeles in the early eighties and continued when he went into station ownership, selling out to Z-Spanish, the predecessor to Bustos Media and joining the company.

Last month it was announced that Bustos was being merged into NAP Broadcast Holdings, pending FCC approval which is expected in the next sixty days.
