Cayuga Media Group, part of Saga Broadcasting in Ithaca, NY, has announced two major staff promotions as the company prepares for a leadership transition. Joe Salzone (pictured), currently News Director for WHCU-AM & FM, is named Operations Manager for the group's 10-station cluster. Salzone, who joined WHCU in 2020, will step into the role following the upcoming retirement of longtime Operations Manager Chris Allinger at the end of August.

"Joe is an incredibly hard-working and knowledgeable broadcast professional," said Chet Osadchey, President and General Manager of Cayuga Media Group. "He will be a guiding force in our continued evolution as a local media source."

The company also announced the promotion of Justin Bertolero, currently Brand Manager for CHR WFIZ (Z95.5). Bertolero will now oversee WQNY (103.7 Q Country) and 96.3 The Buzzer (Fox Sports Ithaca) in addition to WFIZ. He is also an air personality, hosting middays on Q Country and afternoons on Z95.5.

"Justin is a rising star in our building," Osadchey noted. "We are all very proud of him and confident he will continue to elevate both our radio and social platforms."

Bertolero is a graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College and joined Cayuga Media Group in 2022.

"Both Joe and Justin have shown great pride and leadership in their work," Osadchey added. "It's fulfilling and exciting to see them continue to grow professionally within this team."
