New York Road Runners (NYRR) and iHeartMedia New York have announced a multi-year expansion of their official radio broadcast partnership, extending through 2027 and deepening their collaboration around some of the city's most prominent running events.
The new agreement builds on iHeartMedia's 2024 debut as the first official radio broadcast partner of the TCS New York City Marathon. Under the expanded deal, iHeartMedia will continue as the exclusive radio home of the marathon through 2027 and broaden its coverage of NYRR programming across its platforms.
The partnership is part of NYRR's new content initiative, East 89th St Productions, and is aimed at showcasing more stories from the running community to iHeartMedia's broad audience across radio, streaming, and digital.
In addition to continued marathon coverage on 710 WOR, the collaboration includes yYear-round Sunday airings of NYRR Set the Pace Presented by Peloton, a podcast that recently launched a video version and first-time live radio coverage of the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile.
"There are countless incredible stories to tell from our race start-lines and across the running community," said Rob Simmelkjaer, CEO of New York Road Runners. "We're excited to expand our collaboration with iHeartMedia to share more of these stories that highlight the transformative power of running and get even more people into this inclusive sport."
Steve DeLusant, Market President of iHeartMedia New York, added, "710 WOR has the unique privilege of bringing the energy and emotion of race day to listeners across the city and beyond. This multi-year collaboration allows us to amplify the voices and stories that inspire runners and fans alike."
NYRR produces more than 60 races annually and is best known for organizing the world-renowned TCS New York City Marathon.
