Hunter Deeley Named FCC Enforcement Bureau Chief

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has appointed Hunter Deeley as Chief of the agency's Enforcement Bureau, elevating the bureau's Chief of Staff and Deputy Bureau Chief to its top post. Deeley succeeds Patrick Webre, who will remain with the FCC in a senior role in the Office of Managing Director.

"I am pleased that Hunter has agreed to step up and lead the exceptional and dedicated Enforcement Bureau team," Carr said. "I'm confident that under his leadership the team will continue to deliver great wins for the American people from robocall enforcement to rooting out fraud to national security administration."

Carr also thanked Webre for his service leading the bureau.

During his tenure with the Enforcement Bureau, Deeley has supervised enforcement matters involving national security risks and coordinated with law enforcement agencies and U.S. Intelligence Community partners.

Before joining the FCC, Deeley served with the U.S. Department of Justice's National Security Division in its Foreign Investment Review Section. His work included matters before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States and Team Telecom. He received multiple Assistant Attorney General Awards for Excellence during his tenure.

Deeley also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, working in its General Crimes and National Security sections.

He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and American University Washington College of Law.
