Pillar Media has named Mike Couchman Chief Programming Officer, overseeing programming for the company's five-station group, effective November 16. Couchman will oversee WAWZ (Star 99.1), WAKW (Star 93.3), KSRC (Star 101.5), KFCO (The New Flo 107.1) and KPOF (AM 910). He will be based at Pillar Media's Aurora office.

Couchman joins Pillar Media after serving as Operations Manager for Gateway Creative Communications in St. Louis, overseeing the BOOST Radio Network, KLJY (99.1 JOY FM) and KLJT (88.1 WorshipOne).

During his tenure at Gateway, Couchman helped create BOOST Radio and expand it from a single St. Louis signal into a national network heard on 25 signals across the U.S. He also played a role in the growth of KLJY, which became one of St. Louis' highest-rated stations.

Couchman brings more than 30 years of broadcasting experience across multiple formats, including 26 years in Christian radio programming.

"Serving with the team at BOOST Radio/JOY FM/WorshipOne has been an incredible privilege," Couchman said. "I'll always be grateful for what God allowed me to be part of. I'm also excited to see what He's doing at Pillar Media and honored to be part of what He has in store next."

Pillar Media Executive Director Art Garza said Couchman's "experience, programming expertise, heart and vision align with our mission," adding that the company believes he is equipped to lead its programming team forward.

Couchman succeeds Matt Stockman, who recently announced plans to pursue radio and nonprofit consulting full-time. Stockman will remain with Pillar Media during the transition.

"I am incredibly proud of the programming team at Pillar Media," Stockman said. "Entrusting their next chapter to another leader isn't easy, but I am so excited for the future of our stations with Mike Couchman at the helm."
