Radio Dubuque GM Perry Mason to Retire

Perry Mason

Longtime Radio Dubuque General Manager Perry Mason is retiring after more than four decades with the Iowa radio group. Mason began his career with the company in October 1985 at Hot AC KATF (92.9 KAT FM) and eventually rose to General Manager of Radio Dubuque, which also operates KDTH-AM (1370), WVRE (101.1 The River) and KGRR (97.3 The Rock).

A Dubuque native and graduate of Hempstead High School, Mason has spent more than 40 years in local broadcasting while also becoming closely involved with community initiatives honoring military members and veterans.

Mason was a driving force behind Dubuque's annual Fireworks & Airshow Spectacular and Honor Flight of Dubuque and the Tri-States. His work on behalf of veterans and the community earned him the Telegraph Herald's 2025 First Citizen Award.

Radio Dubuque co-owner Marty Schibbelhut will take over leadership of the radio group following Mason's retirement.
