The Rutgers men's basketball broadcast is moving to Audacy's WFAN-FM & AM in New York for the upcoming 2024-25 season. WFAN will become the home for Rutgers football and men's basketball with both sports housed together on the same station. Rutgers men's basketball was previously heard on WCBS-AM (880). "A strong recruiting class has the fan base excited for this basketball season as WFAN's own Jerry Recco chronicles the journey from start to finish."
"We are thrilled that WFAN 660 is the new home of Rutgers men's basketball," added head coach Steve Pikiell. "There is no better sports radio station in the country, and we're excited to partner ahead of one of the most exciting seasons in Rutgers basketball history."
The voice of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Jerry Recco is entering his ninth season on the call. and now his play-by-play will be heard on his home station, WFAN, which airs "Boomer and Gio" each morning where Recco provides sports updates. Recco has been at the station since 1997. He also serves as a podcast host for the Steve Pikiell Podcast throughout the season.
