''House of Hair with Dee Snider'' Reaches 1000 Shows

Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider celebrates 20 years and one thousand shows with his syndicated radio show, "The House of Hair," distributed through Sun Broadcast Group. Snider's special 1000th episode will air this Saturday, February 11. To celebrate, Snider is giving one lucky listener a Gibson guitar, complete with amp and accessories. Snider's three-hour show began in 1997, and has built an affiliate count of 200 stations.

Snider said, "When I started doing this show in 1997, Grunge still had a death-grip on the airwaves and 'heavy metal' was a dirty word. I wondered if anybody would be interested in listening to a bunch of 'old hair bands.' 1000 shows later, and in our 20th year, I guess I didn't need to wonder. "Hair metal," as it's so dismissively called, is not only the soundtrack of a generation, but the go to music of whole new generations."
